We are part of a UNLV Department of Geoscience team, lead by Dr. Carrie Tyler, that received a new NSF EPSCoR Graduate Fellowship Program (EGFP) award on “Graduate Experiences for Future Leaders: Building Workforce Capacity in Resource Management and Mining”. The award provides funding for up to 15 PhD students in the department. The arid lands hydrology group will also recruit PhD students through this program. More details will follow soon.

Best Student Presentation Award
Eunice Ledres received the Best Student Presentation Award at the American Meteorological Society 17th Symposium on Aerosol Cloud Climate Interactions for her presentation on work she performed during a summer internship at Brookhaven National Laboratory on “Aerosol, Cloud, and Radiation Properties over the Amazon Rainforest across Synoptic Regimes defined using Machine Learning”. Congratulations!

New Group Member: Rebekah Magness
MS student Rebekah Magness is joining the Arid Lands Hydrology Group. Rebekah is an Active Duty Air Force Officer attending graduate school through the United States Air Force Academy Faculty pipeline. Upon completion of her M.S. she will return to the United States Air Force Academy to instruct undergraduate geoscience courses. Welcome!
